Frequently asked questions

The historic rock corridors are as exciting as they are multi-layered, central but also hidden, full of possibilities, a complex ecosystem and a climate zone of its own. So it’s no wonder that people regularly ask us and our guides lots of questions. We would like to answer the most frequent and important ones for you on this page.

Our regular guided tours through the Historic Rocky Walks take place several times a day and our themed tours once or several times a week. The exact dates and times can be found in the individual information on the relevant offer.

Tours

Animals are not permitted.

Temperatures in the Nuremberg cliff walkways are between 8 and 10 °C all year round. So please remember to wear warm clothing so that you don’t get cold during the tour.

The guided tours usually last 60 minutes, only the combined tours take two hours.

There are some stairs to climb and the floors in the corridors are uneven in places. The rock corridors are therefore unfortunately not barrier-free.

Unfortunately, it is not possible to reserve tickets. However, tickets can be purchased online at any time in advance or on site in the brewery shop at Bergstraße 19.

You are welcome to send us an e-mail with your voucher code using the contact form. We will then be happy to check the validity for you.

Photography and filming is only permitted with the authorisation of NKG GmbH.

No, due to the size of the cellar labyrinth, only trained tour guides are allowed to enter the corridors.

During the dark tour, every visitor is given a safety helmet and it is compulsory to wear one.

The consumption of food and drink is prohibited in the rock galleries.

Persons who are obviously under the influence of alcohol or other intoxicating substances are not permitted to take part in a guided tour

The meeting point is always in front of the brewery shop at Bergstr. 19.

The only exception is the combined guided tour: ‘Old Town Tour and Rock Walks’, where the meeting point is at Hauptmarkt 18, in front of the Tourist Information Centre.

A tasting is included in the public red beer tour and the combined tour ‘700 years of brewing tradition’.
Not for all other types of tour.
A beer tasting can be booked in addition for private group tours.

The rooms can only be booked in their entirety. A maximum of 8 people can take part in each escape room. However, larger groups of up to 16 people can book both rooms as an escape room challenge and compete against each other in teams.

Sohle 4 is an area in the Felsengänge where we organise cultural events: Cinema, concerts, art, readings and theatre.
